Groomlake Danceband

We are the GROOMLAKE DANCEBAND. Our music is totally improvised and recorded live, we're never sure what we are going to create when we start and we've never been able to recreate it after we have finished.

Our mission is to bring this music to you.

Here are some of things that have been said about us:'They are sort of CAN meets Godspeed You Black Emperor via Will Sergeant.'; 'There aren't many bands who can create such a genuinely unsettling atmosphere with written compositions'; 'kinda steve roach/robert rich in places ... I dug it'; 'Sound007 is a nice piece of abstract ambient music. Definitely a kraut influence, but more experimental than most kraut. Almost industrial'; 'krautrock on valium'; 'brilliant'; 'reminscent of early 70s experimental bands'; 'vaguely like The Orb'; 'very intense!'; 'Reminded me a little of Tangerine Dream circa 1970 Electronic Meditation era'; 'a band to watch out for' (this last comment on the Radio Caroline show 'Dance on a Volcano') The nice people at Supanova Radio have also been very complimentary. They have shows streaming now and are recording new ones at the end of March. Check them out they play some well cool stuff!!

A cd-r is available now!! It has eight tracks lasting 56 minutes. It cost's �7 in the UK, �8 for Europe and $12 for the rest of the world including p&p. It is also available from Sound Search in Dudley and Ultima thule in Leicester has copies. Other, online retailers are hopefully being added, namely, The Freak Emporium and Chunky Records (NB: these retailers do NOT yet have copies. We WILL let you know when they do). There will be an initial limited edition of 50 with an eight page colour book and a 'hidden' extra track.
